The original Hangar 9® Valiant 30cc quickly became a favourite among pilots thanks to its classic yet modern design, exceptional stability, and surprisingly strong aerobatic capability. It delivered a smooth, predictable flying experience that appealed to a wide range of pilots. However, its large 108-inch wingspan made transportation and storage challenging for many users.
To solve this, Hangar 9 introduces the Valiant 20cc, a more compact and practical version featuring an 86.5-inch (2.2m) wingspan, while still delivering the full giant-scale flying experience. It combines practicality with performance, making it ideal for everyday flying without sacrificing presence or capability.
Construction & Design
The Valiant 20cc is built using a strong, lightweight, and stiff traditional wood airframe (balsa and lite-ply construction), ensuring long-term durability while maintaining excellent flight performance. The model is fully covered in genuine UltraCote® film, providing a premium finish with excellent resistance to wear.
Its aerodynamic design is based on a semi-symmetrical airfoil, carefully chosen to provide a perfect balance between stability, efficiency, and aerobatic performance. This allows the aircraft to perform equally well in relaxed sport flying and more demanding manoeuvres.
